May 15th Board Meeting

The May Board Meeting was an exciting event with great discussion among the attendees. The morning was started by Ron Penland with a spirited presentation/discussion on the leadership challenges business owners face in today's economy. The attendees found many takeaways from Ron's material.

During our roundtable the group tackled issues around business growth with a focus on top line improvement. Each attendee was able to connect to the challenges of growing their business during a changing economy.

The 2.5 hours flew by and during the debrief each attendee found the meeting to have met or exceeded their expectations!

Cal State Fullerton Students Can Help YOU

I was happy to see an article in Saturday March 29th issue of The Orange County Register on Cal State Fullerton Small Business Institute.

The article, written by Jan Norman, was about the great work done by student teams for various businesses in Orange County. Businesses such as Restaurants on the Run, A-1 Foam and Fabrics, and Plum's Cafe.

Michael Ames, who runs Cal State Fullerton's Small Business Institute, continually solicits area companies to participate in the student projects, seeking cases that will offer sufficient challenge for the students to demonstrate what they learned in class.
